Direct Marketing: Inbound Telemarketing Merchants
Merchants that initiate direct contact with consumers to sell products and services. Outbound telemarketing merchants contact (and sometimes offer an incentive to) prospective buyers by phone, advertising, direct mail (other than a catalog), or other direct marketing method that includes either a toll-free phone number or a mailing address. Products promoted and sold via such methods may include cosmetics, health-care products, vitamins, and time-share realty. For charitable organizations that solicit contributions by any means, including via outbound telemarketing, use MCC 8398.
