Robinhood is no longer just for the retail trader. With the launch of the Robinhood Platinum Card, the company is targeting the high-net-worth “Fintech” enthusiast. Plated in actual platinum and requiring an invite, this Visa Infinite product is a direct challenge to the establishment.

The Rewards Structure

The Platinum card moves away from the “flat 3%” of the Gold card and adopts a tiered, travel-heavy model:

  • 10% Back: Hotels and Rental Cars (via Robinhood Travel).
  • 5% Back: Flights (via Robinhood Travel).
  • 5% Back: Dining & Delivery (on up to $50,000/yr).
  • 1% Back: Everything else.

Counting the Credits

Robinhood claims over $3,000 in annual value. Here is the realistic breakdown for a tech-savvy user:

  • $300 Travel Credit: Flexible. Can be used anywhere (Rideshare, Hotels, Flights).
  • $500 Hotel Booking Credits: Highly restrictive ($250 every 6 months, mostly for luxury stays).
  • $250 Dining Credit: $20/month at participating spots.
  • $250 DoorDash Credits: $10 discounts on $50+ orders.
  • Membership Perks: Amazon One Medical ($199), Function Health ($365), and Oura ring credits.

The “Axe-Sharpened” Verdict

The Robinhood Platinum is essentially a lifestyle bundle disguised as a credit card. If you already pay for DoorDash, Amazon Medical, and upscale dining, the $695 fee pays for itself immediately.

However, for pure travel rewards, the 1% base rate is a major disappointment compared to the Gold card’s flat 3%.

Ideal User: The active Robinhood trader who wants a status-symbol card with massive health/wellness perks and eats out frequently. Pass On It: If you value simplicity and high flat-rate cashback on daily spend.
